CMOR Lab

The Computational Methodologies & Operations Research (CMOR Lab) supports educational and research activities of the Department of Applied Informatics in the following scientific fields: Optimization and Decision Making, High Performance Scientific Computations, Intelligent Agents, Cryptography, Machine Learning, Statistical Theory and Applications with Emphasis on Analysis of Large Data, Statistical Theory and Applications with emphasis on computational statistics, Algorithm Design and Analysis, Planning and Scheduling, and Artificial Intelligence.

Nikolaos Samaras

Prof. Nikolaos Samaras

is a Professor in the Department of Applied Informatics. He received his Diploma in Applied Informatics from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece in 1996 and his Ph.D. in Applied Informatics from the same University in 2001. From April 2016, till this day he is serving as director of the CMOR Laboratory.

Prof. Dimitrios Hristu-Varsakelis

is a Professor in the Department of Applied Informatics. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University.

Prof. Ioannis Refanidis

is a Professor in the Department of Applied Informatics. He received his B.Sc. Physics from the Dept. of Physics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1992, and his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Informatics from the Dept. of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1992 and 2001 respectively.

Dr. Halkidis Spyros

servers as Laboratory Teaching Personnel in the Department of Applied Informatics. He received his B.Sc. from the Computer Science Department, University of Crete, Greece in 1996 and his M.Sc. from the same department in 1998. He also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece, which he received in 2000. He received his Ph.D. in Software Security at the Department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia in 2008.
